Wholly owned by Fort McKay First Nation, the Group runs oilfield construction, logistics, mechanical services and joint ventures across the oil sands, with roughly a thousand people working out of Fort McKay, Fort McMurray and Edmonton. Forty years of that work had built a business of real consequence. The brand had never been built to match it, and the anniversary was approaching with nothing to mark it.
A full rebrand, covering position, identity and voice, and a fortieth-anniversary mark designed to sit alongside it. Then we carried the system further than a brand book usually goes: onto earth-moving equipment, the vehicle fleet, site signage, and the look and feel of the operation itself.
An identity that reads at a hundred metres on a haul road and holds its own in an Edmonton boardroom. For a First Nation-owned enterprise whose purpose is to advance its community, the brand stopped being a logo on a letterhead and became something the workforce could see on every machine they operate. Pride, made visible, from the boardroom to the haul road.
